Yalago: Global hotel bookings rise by 25% in 2024 

Yalago announced a record high in hotel bookings with its global travellers in January and February 2024, since the inception of the company in 2017. Yalago’s team sources exclusive, leading rates for hotels across the world, offering significant savings for trade partners and travellers. In comparison to January and February 2023 levels, hotel bookings through Yalago have grown 25% year-on-year in this time period in 2024. Overall, Yalago’s highest number of hotel bookings in 2024 so far have been made across the UAE, Thailand, USA, Maldives, and Spain, respectively. The largest growth destinations, trending for 2024, include the USA, Maldives, Greece, Mexico, and Hong Kong, with bookings up more than 100% compared to 2023. The largest source markets for travel include the UK, USA, Thailand, Australia, and Italy – with record numbers of travellers from these countries booking hotel stays this year. Trends with global travellers include a longer lead-time for bookings, expanding by seven days compared to previous years. The global average for 2024 is three-and-a-half months to make a hotel booking ahead of the date of travel. Yalago’s global, direct hotel portfolio has grown 15% since 2023, and this year its team is focused on expanding this further across markets in trend. This includes across the USA and Asia – with Bali and Thailand as an example, trending due to the affordability of world-class accommodation options. Jazeera Airways announces new Chief Executive Officer

Jazeera Airways announced that the airline’s current Chief Executive Officer, Rohit Ramachandran, will be stepping down after over seven successful years with the organization. Barathan Pasupathi (Bara), a former CFO of Jazeera Airways, has been named the new Chief Executive Officer of Jazeera Airways effective 26 March 2024. Bara comes with over 30 years of experience in aviation, oil and gas, and supply chain management. His aviation industry experience spans key finance, management, and operations functions for airlines as well as aircraft procurement and leasing. Speaking about this management change, Marwan Boodai, Jazeera Airways Chairman said, “Rohit has been a strong, visionary and passionate leader, and a true champion of our brand and our people. Kazakhstan trends at 195% most popular Eid getaway by UAE travellers : Skyscanner

According to Skyscanner’s latest research shared, Kazakhstan is at number one position as most popular search by UAE travellers as residents plan ahead for the Eid Al Fitr break. The findings reveal that 2 April 2024 is the most popular travel departure date during this period, and more than half of travellers (51%) are searching for trips that are one week or less. Turkish Airlines expands connectivity with increased flight frequencies to Italy

Turkish Airlines  announced a significant expansion in its flight frequencies to Italy, offering enhanced connectivity and convenience for travellers. This strategic decision reflects Turkish Airlines’ commitment to meeting growing demand and expanding travel destinations for its passengers. By flying 129 countries, the flag carrier offers 42,600 connection options to its passengers within its operational performance. Turkish Airlines currently operates direct flights from Istanbul to eight cities in Italy, including Milano, Rome, Venice, Bologna, Naples, Bari, Catania, and Palermo. As of March 31, 2024, Turkish Airlines will increase the number of round-trip flights from Istanbul to Bologna from 18 to 21 flights per week. Additionally, flights from Palermo will be raised from four to six flights per week, and Bari flights will be increased from five to seven flights per week. Furthermore, flights to Naples will also see an increase from 12 to 18 flights per week. Philippine Airlines UAE posts 53.8million dollars revenue in passenger sales in 2023: RH PAL

At a special interview with TTME, Josh Vasquez – Regional Head – EMEA Region Philippine Airlines disclosed that 2023 had posted  53.8million dollar revenue in terms of passenger sales in the UAE and 70% of which came from the travel agents their most important channel.
