Visit Qatar and Qatar Airways launch stopover packages

Visit Qatar and Qatar Airways have announced the launch of Doha stopover packages as part of their efforts to promote Qatar as a leading tourist destination to be added to final passenger journeys, at a press conference held by His Excellency Saad bin Ali Al Kharji, President of Qatar Tourism, and Eng. Badr Mohammed Al Meer, Group Chief Executive Officer, Qatar Airways, in the presence of a group of international media representatives on an extensive familiarization trip to Doha, at Msheireb, Downtown Doha.
Visit Qatar plays a key role in strengthening partnerships with government entities and encouraging investments, as well as supporting private sector engagement to ensure the growth of the hospitality and tourism sectors. It works to strengthen Qatar’s position as a leading tourism destination while preserving its rich cultural heritage. Visit Qatar’s efforts are focused on strengthening the country’s tourism infrastructure, promoting sustainable development and promoting cultural exchange, in line with Qatar ‘s vision.National 2030
Commenting on the press conference, His Excellency Mr. Saad bin Ali Al Kharji, President of Qatar Tourism, said: “The launch of the Qatar Stopover packages is a testament to the continued fruitful cooperation between Qatar Tourism and Qatar Airways, which gives passengers a great opportunity to expand their travel experience by visiting Qatar. January 2024 also saw another remarkable achievement, with the number of incoming visitors exceeding 700,000. We continue to grow across the industry and this in turn reinforces our larger target of welcoming six million visitors annually by 2030. These figures are a testament to the growth in Qatar’s tourism sector, ultimately reinforcing Qatar’s position as a leading tourism destination.”

Discover Qatar, Qatar Airways’ destination management company, can now opt for a stopover flight, reinforcing Doha’s ideal stopover with its unique tourism experiences and benefits.
During the press conference, Qatar Airways highlighted the expansion of its network, summer programme and great destinations to travel to and spend short or long holidays. By resuming flights to Venice, Italy, as well as launching its new route to Hamburg, Germany, the national carrier aims to attract additional influx of international passengers through the Middle East’s best airport, Hamad International Airport. This gives transit passengers the opportunity to add Doha as a stopover destination through Discover Qatar’s stopover packages.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Badr Mohammed Al Meer, said: “Thanks to the expansion of our network in 2024, we have a fantastic summer schedule, which includes the resumption of flights to Venice, the launch of a new route to Hamburg, Germany, as well as an increase in the number of flights on several international routes. Visit Qatar’s stopover packages include five great options for travellers at over 100 hotels and travel packages starting from $14 a day, especially for passengers starting their journeys through Qatar Airways’ network of more than 170 destinations:

All stopover packages will have 24 check-in desks for guests to make the most of their time in Qatar, and these packages can be modified with additional options such as airport assistance, transportation, and a range of tours and experiences to enhance their stay in Qatar such as city tours or safaris.
