Rotana has announced a new management agreement in the capital of Egypt at Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2018 in Dubai. The agreement for a new 200-room five-star in New Cairo City will bring the company’s total inventory in the country to 726 keys. Marking the company’s strong presence at the annual industry event, Rotana is sharing key updates about its robust pipeline of 48 properties that are scheduled for opening before 2020. The company currently operates 16,161 keys across its 60 hotels in 23 cities and with the launch of the hotels under construction, Rotana will have a presence in 40 cities globally. Among key Rotana hotels on display at the exhibition, include the company’s three latest openings in the UAE. Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas, a luxurious five-star hotel in Abu Dhabi, took centrestage at the exhibition. With a soft opening in March 2018, the luxury resort is situated on Saadiyat Beach, a nine-kilometre stretch of white sand on the sprawling Saadiyat Island and features 354 luxurious rooms and suites in addition to 13 private beach villas. UAE-based RSG International has signed a management agreement with Rotana for a new 4-star hotel in Dubai, at a prime location on Sheikh Zayed Road, Jebel Ali Central. The project marks RSG International’s second collaboration with Rotana this year, following the launch of the Sabah Rotana hotel in Dubai in March 2017, and gives a further boost to the company’s plans to augment its hospitality portfolio in the emirate ahead of Expo 2020. Rotana has signed an agreement with RSG International, a UAE-based global conglomerate, for a new five star hotel and serviced apartment project in Dubai, located in Sufouh Gardens on Sheikh Zayed Road. Rotana has announced plans to open seven new hotels in Dubai, four hotels in the capital Abu Dhabi and one in Ras Al Khaimah by the end of 2020. Six of the upcoming properties will be five-star hotels, with the remaining properties comprising of a mix of four and three star hotels and hotel apartments. Upon completion, the new hotels will add 4,360 keys to Rotana’s existing inventory, taking its fast expanding portfolio in the UAE to 44 properties, including 21 in Dubai and 17 in Abu Dhabi, with a room inventory of 11,782 (6,682 in Dubai alone and 5,100 in Abu Dhabi). The total value of the 12 upcoming properties managed by Rotana in the UAE is estimated at USD 1.7 billion. Cayan Group has appointed Rotana Hotel Management as the hotel operator for the Cayan Arjaan Hotel Apartments project. Furthermore, Shapoorji Pallonji International has been appointed as the main contractor for the project with construction works expected to commence during November 2016. Rotana Hotel Management Corporation and Dubai International Real Estate (DIRE) have mutually agreed to the termination of their agreement for the management of Al Bustan Hotel and Al Murooj Hotel in Dubai. Dubai International Real Estate (DIRE) have decided to take over the management of both hotels under their own management company, and thus effective 1st January 2017, both hotels will no longer be under Rotana’s management. This is a mutual decision between Rotana Hotel Management Corporation and Dubai International Real Estate and both parties are now working together to ensure a seamless transition.
