Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism launches promotional roadshow in the Indian market

Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Oman conducted a special promotional roadshow in five major source cities in India recently. The roadshow comprised a delegation from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Omani tour operators, hotels, and airlines. These roadshows were held in New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore. The aim of this five city roadshow was to showcase outstanding experiences in Oman’s unique destinations and promote unique travel experiences for leisure, weddings, conferences and exhibitions. In July alone, the number of visitors, including those from India to Oman reached 36,087, the highest in the last decade. This year, arrivals from India reached 167,678 between January to July. Commenting on the launch of the promotional roadshow, Ms Asma Salim Al Hajri, Deputy Director General for Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said: “India is one of the most important source markets for the Sultanate of Oman under our marketing and promotional strategy for all target segments. The roadshow will showcase the unique selling points (USPs) of destinations in Oman that will pique their interest to inspire Indian tourists to travel.” “We also seek to promote the Sultanate as an attractive destination for weddings as this is one of the growing tourism segments, especially for visitors from India. With its pristine nature, picturesque beaches and unique architecture, Oman has seen many Indian weddings for its exceptional capabilities in terms of logistical facilities and accommodation,” she added. Oman marks a grand opening at ATM with a focus on innovation, sustainability and human resources

Sultanate of Oman being a key participant at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) officially opened their stand spearheaded by His Excellency Azzan bin Qassim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, the Oman delegation included 14 companies, institutions, and establishments of the Omani tourism sector. The exhibition, which runs from May 9th to 12th witnessed the launch of Oman’s new pavilion, as well as Oman Tourism Forum 2022. The Forum will oversee participation of over 1,500 exhibitors representing 112 tourist destinations around the world, with over 20,000 visitors specialized in the tourism sector. In a statement commenting on the participation of the Sultanate of Oman, His Excellency Azzan bin Qassim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism said, “ATM is an important platform for the Ministry and the Omani tourism sector institutions to showcase its latest developments and projects, especially as we prepare to welcome the Khareef season soon.” His Excellency added, “The intensive business programs and official meetings serves as a catalyst for Ministry, and the Omani institutions and companies to learn, discover and grow from global markets. Oman Air supports Oman tourism to focus on Russian market

Oman Air has lent its support to the Ministry of Tourism, Oman, by hosting a Omani-themed workshop aimed at promoting the Sultanate’s tourism stakeholders, to celebrate the upcoming Moscow service in October. The event, which was held last week in Moscow, provided an opportunity to introduce Oman Air to the Russian market as well as showcased the unique hospitality and culture of Oman. Over 200 tour operators attended the event, with delegates from Oman Air. In addition to Oman Air, Ministry of Tourism, Oman, was joined by key hotel partners, including Anantara, Kempinski, Shangri-La and Crowne Plaza Muscat. With the launch of the new Moscow service, Oman Air is pleased that travellers from Russia will now be able to take advantage of convenient and seamless global travel to destinations within the extensive network. The new daily service to Moscow Domodedovo Airport will be operated by a Boeing 737 MAX 8 with an estimated flight time of 5 hours and 55 minutes, offering 12 seats in business class and 150 in economy class. Flight WY181 will depart Muscat daily at 14.55 hours, arriving to Moscow at 19.55 hours (local time). The return flight WY182 will depart Moscow at 00.20 hours, arriving at new passenger terminal at Muscat International Airport, at 06.55 hours.

Oman launches new marketing campaign with Holidayfactory.com

The campaign highlights Oman’s most attractive and widely visited historical sites, featuring the richness of Oman’s ancient culture and civilization, through a series of marketing and promotional offers, and is seen to boost cultural awareness and enhance tourism development. The tie-up with Holidayfactory.com, a premium-experience travel website based in the UAE, is testament to the Sultanate’s distinct advantage as a destination of choice in the GCC and Arab region, which further strengthens the Ministry’s moves to increase partnership with the private sector to cement Oman’s leading position in the global tourism map. New private aviation terminal to open at Sharjah International Airport

Gama Support Services, a division of global business aviation services company Gama Aviation, has signed commercial agreements with Sharjah Airport Authority for the development and operation of a private aviation terminal at Sharjah International Airport. Estimated to cost AED 110 million ($30 million) to get built, this purpose-built, integrated business aviation complex would provide ground handling services to business jet owners, business jets, and crew members. The terminal would be spread over an area of 40,000 square metres and will include two aircraft hangars that would be able to accommodate business aircraft up to the size of Airbus ACJ & Boeing BBJ (ACJ aircraft are based on the Airbus A320 family, while BBJ are based on Boeing 737 commercial aircraft frames). Further, it will also be complemented with rest areas, lounges, duty-free shops, passport control and customs. The development will also include an aircraft fueling unit, an aircraft parking apron for business jets and ample car parking adjacent to the terminal.
