TravTalk Middle East participates as official B2B media partner for Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) at the World Travel Market 2022 (WTM). This year will be the first time that almost every destination has fully opened for travel hence as WTM witnesses new exhibitors the total expected number exceeds 51,000 industry professionals from the travel and tourism industry in the British capital from 7-9 November. TravTalk Middle East has been the official media partner for WTM London for the past many years. SCTDA will further its strategic goals of promoting the emirate as a popular travel destination on prestigious global events. They are leading a delegation of 17 public and private sector entities, namely, Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA), Sharjah International Airport, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), Sharjah Art Foundation (SAF), Expo Centre Sharjah, Sharjah Institute for Heritage, Sharjah Sports Council, Sharjah Old Cars Club, Sharjah Airport Travel Agency (SATA), Sharjah National Hotels, Golden Sands Hotel, The Chedi Al Bait Hotel, Al Badayer Retreat by Mysk, Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa, Coral Beach Resort Sharjah,COSMO Travel, and TravTalk, the official B2B media partner.
These entities will showcase their latest developments across the emirate, including key projects taking shape in key sectors of tourism, leisure, heritage, culture, sports and hospitality, along with the steps they are taking to preserve Sharjah’s rich biodiversity and cultural heritage. Through their participation, SCTDA will also highlight its new developments and projects, tourism offerings and services, staycation options and hotel establishments across the emirate.

Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA, said: “Being an international forum to promote new global tourist destinations within the European market, Sharjah’s participation at WTM this year will provide a unique opportunity to consolidate the emirate’s position globally as one of the region’s favourite destinations. One of our key offerings this year is the Sharjah Safari – the largest wildlife safari in the world outside Africa, which hosts more than 120 species in environments similar to the native African terrain, which has added a unique competitive element for tourism in Sharjah. H.E. Essa Hilal Al Hazzami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council, noted that this participation is an opportunity for the Council to highlight how sports play a major role in highlighting the potential of the country. Historically and geographically diverse, reflecting its civilisation and city, he said that hosting major tournaments and world events and coming into direct contact with UAE guests offers a direct and powerful message to all, whose impact is stronger than traditional advertising messages. He added that in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Council is keen to support and promote efforts that are in the interest of the UAE, and also that their efforts to build new relations and strengthen existing ones with the institutions of the international community in partnership SCTDA stems from their shared belief that sport is an important enabler of tourism.
His Excellency Dr. Ali Ahmed Abu Al-Zoud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Old Car Club, said: “The club’s participation in this leading travel event aims to promote Sharjah’s position as a top tourist destination that offers vintage car lovers a great avenue for exploration. The club has a classic cars museum with an extensive collection of vintage cars manufactured in the early 20th century. Moreover, the club organises annual activities, including a Classic Car festival at Sharjah’s leading places of tourist interest, bringing together not only car lovers but cultural enthusiasts too with its myriad cultural and artistic shows.”
