Laguna is a province just southeast of Manila in the Calabarzon region (or Region IV-A). Mount Makiling Forest Reserve
Mount Makiling Forest Reserve (MMFR), the 33rd ASEAN Heritage Park, is home to at least 2,038 different species of flowering plants. Endemic species not found anywhere else in the world have thrived here due to favourable soil and climate. MMFR spans a total of 4,244 hectares and offers several outdoor recreation spots. It comprises the Makiling Botanic Gardens; Flatrocks, one of the most frequented places in MFR by visitors; mudsprings, formed due to Mount Makiling’s volcanic history; and Mariang Makiling Trail, an eight-kilometre trek towards Mount Makiling’s Peak II.
Pagsanjan Falls
Skilled and accredited boatmen will take visitors on a scenic boat ride on Magdapio River in order to reach the main falls—the famous Pagsanjan Falls. Here, it is also possible to rent a banca or small boat to go to the falls or ‘shoot the rapids’. Visitors are in for the thrill of a lifetime as the expert boatmen manoeuver the boat skilfully through turbulent waters.
