Turkish Airlines has unveiled its new mobile application. Users can now buy tickets, make reservations and check in, manage Miles&Smiles account and follow departure-arrival status via the recent application. All processes can be done quickly under favor of the simple and easy to use design. It is now possible to add passengers, display the latest airport searches, and gain time by choosing favorite airports. Also the flights can be reserved easier due to the interactive map. The promotions which provide new discoveries via Turkish Airlines can be reached at any place and any time. The new functionalities of the mobile application allow passengers to change tickets, make cancellations, add infants, and add flights directly. The application includes the terminal maps in order to make mobile users find their desired location. Also the mobile application users will have ability to buy emergency row seats to have a more comfortable journey. Also it is now possible to upgrade Economy tickets to Business via new update. Turkish Airlines’ updated mobile application can be downloaded on AppStore and also Google Play to all mobile devices.

Air Europa and Turkish Airlines have jointly announced the start of a code-sharing partnership effective as of October 1, 2016 that enables both carriers to tap into new markets and offer their passengers more travel options. At the initial stage of their cooperation Air Europa will place its marketing code on Istanbul-Madrid v.v. route operated by Turkish Airlines while Turkish Airlines will place its marketing code on Madrid – Las Palmas/Ibiza/Palma de Mallorca v.v. and Madrid – Havana/Santo Domingo/Lima v.v. flights operated by Air Europa. Such an expansion of the codeshare agreement will allow passengers to benefit from better connectivity and increased travel flexibility between Spain and Turkey and beyond the carriers’ respective networks. Turkish Airlines connects 242 international destinations with Istanbul, which is the only city in the world having settled on two continents, and serving as the main hub of the global carrier. It offers transcontinental advantages of its location in Eurasia and makes connecting flights to destinations all around the globe easier than ever.

Seychelles becomes Turkish Airlines’ third Island in the Vanilla Islands Group, with the addition of three weekly return flights to Mahe, Seychelles. Already flying to 48 destinations in Africa, Turkish Airlines will increase its flight network by adding Seychelles as another destination in the continent, bringing the total number of destinations that Europe’s best airline serves to 243 worldwide, and 49 in Africa. With the addition of Seychelles, Turkish Airlines, the airline that flies to more countries than any other airline by serving 117 countries will promise a great experience for users of the new route from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with a one stop in Istanbul, Turkey. Three weekly flights will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and the passengers will depart from Istanbul at 01:05 on board TK748 arriving at 10:55, with a return service on TK749 departing from Seychelles at 12:25 to arrive in Istanbul at 18:10 on the same days.

Turkish Airlines has inaugurated its direct Erbil, Iraq flights which will be operated from and to Gaziantep Airport. Beginning from August 5th, roundtrip flights between Gaziantep and Erbil will be operated 2 times per week in both directions. Introductory round trip fares are available from Gaziantep to Erbil, Iraq starting at 178 USD (including taxes and fees). Additionally, for the operations to the destinations, there is a special offer for Miles&Smiles members, with a 25% reduction in the miles needed to redeem either award tickets or upgrades.

Turkish Airlines media relations office has announced that FAA has removed the recent order of all airline carriers, regardless of the country of registry, prohibited from flying into the United States from Turkey either directly or via third country. Accordingly, all scheduled Turkish Airlines flights to the US will resume starting as of 19th July 2016 with Turkish Airlines Istanbul – NYC flight at 06:45 am. İlker Aycı, Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, Turkish Airlines, stated: “Earlier today I had stated that we saw no reason for the ban as all precautions were in line with the norms. Following our recent report and dense meetings, FAA removed the ban as expected.” Following the illegal failed coup attempt in Turkey, on July 16th 2016 at noon hours FAA had issued a ban of “All airline carriers, regardless of country of registry, are prohibited from flying into the United States from Turkey either directly or via third country.” Furthermore, they extended their gratitude to their passengers for their understanding for the inconvenience. Due to this situation, for individual and group reservations, provided that flights operated by Turkish Airlines (including AnadoluJet trademark), departing/arriving to Turkey (including domestic flights) and/or transit flights via Turkey, flights operated between 15 July 2016 – 17 July 2016 (inclusive), ticketed on/before 15 July 2016 and tickets are revalidated untıl 15 August 2016 (ınclusive) will disregard related fare rules as mentioned below. 1) All Rebooking/ReRouting: will be made without any charge provided that new destination is same IATA region & same cabin class 2) Refund requests: a) Unused tickets: refund will be made without any charge; or b) For partially used tickets, when planned trip is …

In order to improve its transparent communication with its stakeholders, Turkish Airlines has released a mobile Investor Relations App compatible with iPad, iPhone and Android devices. With this application, all Turkish Airlines stakeholders, including shareholders, analysts and investors will be able to access the latest news and developments regarding Turkish Airlines with three different digital platforms and in two languages. With this application, users will  have online and offline access to various information and documents about Turkish Airlines including public disclosures, operational and financial disclosures, investor presentations and annual reports both in Turkish and in English and they will be updated with instant notifications. The application is accessible via Apple Store and Google Play with the searching word “Turkish Airlines”.

Due to the recent situation occurred on 28th June 2016, at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, for passengers who have bookings on all flights departing from, arriving at, or connecting in Istanbul Ataturk Airport or Sabiha Gökçen Airport between 28 June 2016-July 5, 2016 (ticketed on/before 28 June 2016), providing that their tickets are revalidated by 31 July 2016 (inclusive) and disregarding related fare rules: 1. Rebooking and rerouting: Rebooking and rerouting will be carried out free of charge. This applies to all reservation booking classes only if at the same compartment; 2. Refund requests: Refund of unused tickets will be issued free of charge and for tickets which have been partially used (but the entire journey has not been completed), refunds will be issued after deducting the fare for the used portion, with no penalties being applied; 3. Extension of validity: Validity of a ticket can be extended until 31 July 2016 (inclusive) with no fare difference or deduction. All passengers are kindly requested to check the latest status of their flight on their official website or with their call center before traveling.

Turkish Airlines continues to expand its already substantial Far Eastern network with new flights launched to Hanoi, Vietnam. Roundtrip flights between Istanbul and Hanoi will be operated five times per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in both directions. Introductory round trip fares are available from Istanbul to Hanoi starting at €603 ($669.2, inclusive of taxes and fees.

Turkish Airlines now connects Košice, the urban center of Eastern Slovakia, with Istanbul. The flag carrier will operate flights to and from Košice three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in both directions. Introductory trip fares are available from Istanbul to Košice starting from $99 and from Košice to Istanbul Euros 99 (including taxes and fees). Additionally, for the first 6 months of operation to the new destinations, there is a special offer for Miles&Smiles members, with a 25 per cent reduction in the miles needed to redeem either award tickets or upgrades. This way, Košice will gain strategic importance in the process of building and strengthening cultural, business and tourist activities. With existing services to Bucharest and Constanta, Cluj becomes the 3rd destination for Turkish Airlines. Beginning from July 12, Cluj flights will be operated four times per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays in both directions.
