The second in the tri-series webinar by the Spain tourism board was concluded successfully with participants from all over the United Arab Emirates and GCC. The programme was divided into four sessions; first was conducted by Daniel Rosado Bayon – Director of the Spanish Tourism Office in Abu Dhabi with a general update about the country, connectivity, weather etc. The many things that you do need to know and must do if you travel to the destination. He also mentioned that they are getting ready to open for foreign tourists in July. The second session was conducted by Juan Manuel Ortiz Pascual, Promotion and Communications Director of Andalusia Tourism. This was a comprehensive presentation about Andalusia with several videos where visitors could take a closer look at the destination and its offerings. He shared about the many activities that can be done, the historical, cultural and entertainment options for families and leisure travelling individuals, honeymooners, youth, adventure and M!CE visitors etc. He stated that there are four main assets for the Islamic community which are Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada and Malaga. The destination has seen Romans, Thracians, Phoenicians etc during their times. Malaga is a city that was hitherto unknown until the biggest airport was constructed. It receives 24,000,000 passengers a year with Ave high speed train, the Malaga cruise port brings across 511,000 passengers in 2019, the destination has 103 charming places. Rosado shared two other important destinations one is quite famous “Valencia” and other is Extremadura. In a few hours, the second webinar by the Spain tourism board will kick off with two other most important destinations in the region ‘Andalusia’ and ‘Costa del Sol’. It will be conducted by 3 speakers Daniel Rosado Bayon – Director of the Spanish Tourism Office in Abu Dhabi; Juan Manuel Ortiz Pascual, Promotion and Communications Director of Andalucía Tourism; and Susana Porras- Executive Consultant Visit Costa del Sol. Andalusia is the southern region of Spain, which offers a great variety of landscapes, from the mountain range of Sierra Nevada to the coastal towns in the Mediterranean sea. Andalusia is famous for its stunning beaches, fabulous monuments such as the Cordoba Mosque or the Alhambra Palace, the flamenco, it´s gastronomy and their zest for life. Other regions such as Valencia will also be covered in this journey through the wonders of Spain. ‘Costa del Sol’ means ‘coast of the sun’ or the ‘sun coast’ and has been a holiday destination for the rich and famous stars to royalty. Situated in southern Spain, it occupies a narrow coastal strip delimited by the cordillera Penibética to the north and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. The second webinar in a tri-series by Spain Tourism -‘Discover Andalusia’ will take place tomorrow June 10, 2020 at 11am UAE time. This will be a great opportunity for all those in the travel trade to join in and learn more about the many facts about the destination that encompasses its rich history. As the destination has already announced their dates of entry to foreign tourism to Spain, the safe conditions will resume. Spain tourism will be presenting a series of webinars to be conducted on May 20, June 10 and June 17, 2020. This will be an ideal opportunity to learn about the destination, its most known and unknown areas, what to do when in Spain, discover new itineraries, its weather, its culture; the series includes a whole new awareness of one of the most sought after European destinations in the world.
