Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman has trained and hired employees with speaking and hearing disabilities as part of its continuous commitment to reach out to the community and provide equal opportunity for different members of the society. Under Ajman Tourism Development Department’s Zayed Day for Humanitarian Initiative, in cooperation with the Ministry of Community Development, Ramada Ajman provided training and internship to Musab Abdul Raheem Jaber Saleh. A deaf and mute Jordanian national, he worked with the front office department as bell boy cum valet parking driver for a month. The programme aimed to train and employ people of determination, in order for them to integrate in the community and to be qualified to work in the government and private sector in the future. Early this year, the property also hired Rizwan Uddin, a deaf and mute Pakistani, as a ken fix-it technician. As part of the engineering department, his skills include carpentry, painting and masonry. Wyndham Garden Ajman Corniche will exhibit as part of R Hotels stand alongside Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman and Ramada Beach Hotel Ajman, which are also owned and managed by the same group. The first Wyndham Garden hotel in the UAE is slated to open in the last quarter of 2017. The four-star hotel will feature a total of 179 rooms and suites, an executive lounge on the top floor with panoramic sea views, two restaurants, an outdoor swimming pool, gym and spa, separate health clubs for men and women, and a kids’ play area. Iftikhar Hamdani, the cluster general manager for the three properties, commented: “We are excited to introduce the new Wyndham Garden Ajman Corniche. On top of the Middle East market, we are also eyeing Baltic, Balkans, East Europe, Germany, and Central Asia during the exhibition. Seeking to provide a more efficient and prompt service to its guests, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman recently inked a partnership with ProntoResolved, a software which manages propriety complaints and handles special requests. The contract was signed by Iftikhar Hamdani, general manager of Ramada Ajman, and Franco Moline, president of ProntoResolved. ProntoResolved allows hotels to have a paperless operation by electronically streamlining guest service issues and requirements. The software takes in and resolves the requests in a timely manner; then generates reports and tracks the proficiency of response of the departments involved. Hamdani commented: “Our property is pleased to partner with ProntoResolved in providing enhanced service to our clients, thus generating higher ratings in several platforms. Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman announced its membership in United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the largest corporate social responsibility initiative in the world. To commence its membership, the hotel associates gathered for an orientation conducted by Ayla Bajwa and Hidaya Mansoor Alfalasi, United Nations Global Compact local network representatives in the UAE. The session provided an overview of the ten fundamental principles of the initiative, which are in the areas of Human Rights, Labour, Environment, and Anti-Corruption, as well as a presentation on The Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Our management has always ensured the welfare of our work force and has been actively involved in various sustainable initiatives and charitable projects over the years. As part of its sustainability efforts, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman has underlined its commitment to ‘Soap for Hope’ and ‘Your Can for Tree’ campaigns. Pioneered by Sealed Air, the hotel has been a part of the ‘Soap for Hope’ project for more than two years. While giving out boxes of used soap for recycling, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman pledged to continue its participation not only to save the environment, but also to help less privileged communities supported by the project. The property also took part in the ‘Your Can for Tree’ initiative organised by Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), which aims to raise funds by collecting and selling used aluminium cans to fund tree-planting activities across the UAE.
