Tajawal has entered a strategic partnership with Mediclinic to offer UAE based travellers planning their international trips a 20% discount on their pre-travel PCR tests, which are considered a mandatory requirement at a number of destinations across the world. Upon making a flight or hotel booking through tajawal, travellers will receive their booking confirmation emails which they can present at select Mediclinic establishments in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain to avail the discount on their PCR tests. Dubai headquartered travel management company (TMC) and ATS Travel signed an agreement stating passengers wishing to travel on any airline from the UAE to any destination worldwide can avail of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests at the comfort of their homes or offices. This facility will be offered to all the clients of the TMC at a nominal cost, where ATS Travel will facilitate PCR testing for all its clients based on the rules of the destination airport. “Not all the destinations require PCR testing to be done. Nevertheless, with rules changing dynamically by the day/hour across the globe, it’s important that we, as the TMC advice our customers of the need for a PCR test and ensure that they are done within the time window stipulated by the destination city/country”, informed Saleem Sharif, Deputy Managing Director of ATS Travel. In order to ensure that this service is seamless and offered at the right price, we have partnered with the pioneers in conducting PCR tests in the UAE – Mediclinic. Effective August 1, all travellers flying Etihad Airways from around the world to Abu Dhabi, and those transferring via Abu Dhabi onto other flights, will be required to show a negative COVID-19 PCR test result from a list of approved testing facilities listed on their website, alongside their ICA approval if Abu Dhabi is their end destination. The PCR test must be carried out within 96 hours prior to arrival in Abu Dhabi and a negative COVID-19 PCR test result certificate from one of the approved clinics listed must be shown for approval to board. Children under the age of 12 and people with mild to severe disabilities are currently exempt from this PCR test requirement. Travellers leaving the UAE from Abu Dhabi to any country in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or to any country where it is mandatory by the authorities at the destination, a negative COVID-19 PCR test result will be required within 96 hours prior to departure. To help facilitate this process, Etihad Airways is collaborating with Mediclinic Middle East to offer departing travellers the option of convenient PRC testing, for a fee, at their home, or at Mediclinic facilities in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Dubai prior to their travel.
