Jamaica strengthens ties with Bahrain’s luxury travel market

Jamaica’s Director of Tourism, Donovan White, recently concluded a successful visit to Bahrain, where he attended the prestigious Routes Conference, engaged with key travel agents and industry leaders, and held meetings with major regional airlines to explore enhanced connectivity and push for bilateral agreements. This visit is part of the Jamaica Tourist Board’s (JTB) ongoing strategy to strengthen its presence in the GCC market, positioning Jamaica as a premier travel destination while also boosting its attractiveness for foreign direct investments (FDIs). During his visit, White focused on promoting Jamaica as a premier travel destination to key representatives from travel agencies such as Orient Travel, Vacanza Bahrain, Dadabhai Travel, Bahrain International Travel, Akbar Travels, 24×7 Rooms.com, Farhat Tours & Transfers, and Travel Knits. These agencies were specifically selected for their expertise in catering to high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and high-spending travelers. In a refined high-tea gathering at Café Segu, the meeting provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the travel patterns and preferences of Bahrain’s elite, particularly for destinations in the United States and the Caribbean. Serravalle: new investment plan of 20 million euros for the 2024-2025 biennium

McArthurGlen Group’s Serravalle Designer Outlet presented on 6th December the closing forecasts for the year 2023, with outstanding results that confirm the Center as an internationally significant shopping and tourism destination. The estimated data shared anticipate a return to pre-pandemic levels with an influx of 6 million visitors and a double-digit growth forecast in turnover compared to 2019. Building on these results, McArthurGlen Group has announced a new investment plan of 20 million euros for the 2024-2025 biennium, dedicated to the Piedmont Center. The funds, in line with the Group’s values and a focus on continuous improvement, will be primarily allocated to enhancing the visitor experience and further reducing the Outlet’s environmental impact, demonstrating an increasingly deep and explicit commitment to sustainability. Among the projects in the new investment plan, to make the tourist experience more enjoyable and fulfilling, a new Tourism Hub will be built to welcome international guests and facilitate tax refund procedures. Significant expansions of the existing hospitality areas are also planned, including tripling the size of the Guest Lounge, introducing a dedicated space for conventions, and enhancing Guest Services through the extension and creation of a specific area for organized groups. The planned works also include the refurbishment of parking lots, with the aim of optimizing traffic flow and guiding guests to available parking areas through the implementation of digital signage. McArthurGlen awarded its partners  at a special event to mark their successful presence in the Middle East. There were two segments in terms of awards, McArthurGlen awarded certificate of appreciation to selected agents who had been instrumental over the year in securing partnerships. McArthurGlen also recognised the best performers for the year by presenting them with the Tourism Award Trophies. Starting off the event San Jeet CEO Buzz Travel Marketing welcomed all the winners for their exceptional commitment in contributing to the success of the brand.
