Wego revealed new travel insights showing a shift in Kuwaiti travellers’ preferences for summer 2025 with Munich and London emerging as the most popular. The summer travel period this year is expected to coincide with Eid al-Adha, which may further encourage outbound travel as residents take advantage of the holiday to plan extended getaways. The latest platform data shows a notable rise in international searches, especially toward destinations in Europe and Asia, with family travel seeing increased interest compared to solo trips. Kuwaiti travellers are showing strong interest in European destinations, with Munich and London emerging as the most searched cities on Wego. Among these, Milan has seen the most significant year-on-year growth, with a remarkable 66.34% increase in interest, followed by Paris at 40.17%. Other European cities also witnessed impressive growth, with Tbilisi City recording a 19.92% rise and Vienna experiencing an 8.34% increase. These destinations continue to captivate Kuwaiti travelers with their unique charm and relatively budget-friendly travel options available on Wego. Asian destinations are gaining traction among Kuwaiti travelers seeking value-driven experiences. Kuala Lumpur saw a notable 28.24% increase in searches, driven by its vibrant mix of urban excitement and family-friendly attractions. Jakarta attracted solo travelers with its affordable and immersive experiences, achieving a 22.66% growth. Meanwhile, Bangkok maintained its popularity, recording a 12.98% rise in interest, offering travelers unbeatable deals on accommodations and cuisine through Wego. Additional destinations including Manila, Cochin, Dhaka, and Colombo also ranked prominently among Wego users, with many searches attributed to expatriates planning family reunions during the school summer break. Wego reveals top destinations preferred by travellers from Kuwait in 2024  

Wego revealed data on the most popular destinations favored by Kuwait travelers this year and they include Egypt, India, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, the Philippines, Thailand, Pakistan, and the United Kingdom. Wego observes that Kuwaiti travelers continue to favor these same countries throughout the year for homecoming and holiday trips. Wego’s experts further forecast that this lineup will likely remain unchanged for the remainder of 2024. This steady preference is driven by several factors, including strong family ties, affordable travel options, and a familiarity with the destinations. Traveler dynamics Wego data reveals that a substantial 75% of bookings were made by solo travelers.  This trend could be driven by factors such as solo business trips, personal leisure travel, or flexible schedules that allow individuals to explore destinations on their own terms. Meanwhile, couples and families accounted for 20% of the travel bookings, highlighting varied travel dynamics within the Kuwaiti population. The remaining percentage is made up of group travel bookings. These varied travel dynamics reflect the diverse preferences within the Kuwaiti population, from independent adventurers to those seeking experiences with loved ones. Cultural familiarity boosts popularity of some destinations Further analysis by Wego indicates that cultural familiarity plays a pivotal role in destination choice. Destinations such as Georgia and Azerbaijan in Europe, along with Indonesia and Malaysia in Southeast Asia, feature prominently on the list of most-searched destinations this year.
