EGYPTAIR announces order for 10 A350-900s to meet growing demand for air travel

EGYPTAIR customers will soon be flying to destinations around the globe aboard new Airbus A350-900s, after the airline disclosed an order for 10 aircraft at the Dubai Airshow. Once added to the fleet, the A350-900s will provide EGYPTAIR with 25% less fuel burn and, in turn, reduced emissions, while passengers enjoy the comfort of the Airbus AirSpace cabin, including a feeling of true spaciousness, wide seats, high ceilings and alluring ambient lighting. The signing took place at the 2023 Dubai Airshow, in the presence of EGYPTAIR’s Chairman and CEO, Engineer Yehia Zakaria and Airbus Chief Commercial Officer and Head of International, Christian Scherer. “EGYPTAIR is a key partner of Airbus in the Middle East and Africa. We take immense pride in this partnership aimed at furthering the aviation industry. Our focus lies in the enhancement of our fleet to embrace some of the most contemporary aircraft available,” says EGYPTAIR Chairman and CEO Yehia Zakaria. Zakaria adds: “EGYPTAIR has firmed up an agreement with Airbus to procure 10 A350-900 aircraft, each boasting a capacity of 340 seats. These aircraft come equipped with cutting-edge technologies and Rolls-Royce XWB Trent engines, known for their modern design and reduced fuel emissions and consumption. As we tackle growing demand across our network, this aircraft is the optimal choice. “Once delivered the A350-900 will be EGYPTAIR’s flagship aircraft. EGYPTAIR expands its network by adding Manchester

EGYPTAIR announced that it will operate to Manchester, England, starting from 15th July, in light of its continuous efforts to stimulate tourism and travel, and to upgrade its airline network. The new route represents additional expansion points to EGYPTAIR’s network in Europe and serve new customers of the company around the world. It will operate 5 weekly flights to Manchester, England, starting from July 15, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with its B737-800NG , The outbound flight is at 10:00 am , Cairo time  , Flight No. MS781, arrives at 1:30 pm , Manchester time. Oman Air and EGYPTAIR sign codeshare agreement, expanding network reach for both airlines.

Oman Air announced that it has signed a codeshare agreement with EGYPTAIR, the national carrier of Egypt and one of the leading carriers in the MENA region. The codeshare agreement on flights between Muscat and Cairo was signed as part of both airlines’ commitment to work toward a strong restart for air travel to overcome the effects of the spread of Covid-19 on the aviation sector and to expand their destination offering to customers. EGYPTAIR becomes first A220 operator in MENA region

EGYPTAIR has taken delivery of its first of 12 A220-300 aircraft on order, becoming the first A220 operator based in the Middle East and North African (MENA) region, and the sixth operator worldwide. The Cairo-based airline intends to fly the aircraft on routes to and from its main Egyptian hub in Cairo in the coming days. Representatives from the airline, alongside executives from Airbus Canada Limited Partnership celebrated the aircraft handover at the A220 Mirabel final assembly line. “We are proud to welcome our very first A220 aircraft and to be the first airline in the MENA region to take delivery and launch commercial operations of the A220 – the most innovative and technologically advanced aircraft in the world,” said Capt. 14 airlines to take part in CONNECT Middle East, India & Africa forum in Dubai

Set to be held from April 30 to May 1, CONNECT Middle East, India & Africa 2019 is expected to bring together airline specialists, aviation authorities, tourism boards, airports and tour operators, as well as other travel-related industry professionals. Fourteen airlines have already confirmed their participation at CONNECT Middle East, India & Africa – co-located with Arabian Travel Market 2019 and taking place at Dubai World Trade Centre. Dnata expands partnership with EgyptAir in Dubai

Dnata has announced that it is expanding its partnership with EgyptAir in Dubai to provide the airline with premium cargo handling services from its best-in-class facility at Dubai World Central (DWC). EgyptAir will initially operate one cargo flight a week between Dubai and Cairo using an Airbus A300F aircraft. Dnata has been providing ground handling services to EgyptAir at Dubai International Airport since 2005. The expansion of the partnership underlines the attraction of Dubai as an air cargo hub and the demand for Dnata’s reliable and quality services and dedicated team. Including EgyptAir , Dnata’s cargo operations serve over 120 airlines at 43 airports handling over 3 million tonnes of cargo a year. EGYPTAIR leases six Dreamliners

Boeing and AerCap announced EGYPTAIR’s new agreement to lease six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners from Dublin-based AerCap. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is the fastest-selling twin-aisle airplane in history. Boeing has delivered more than 600 787s entering service in 2011, flying more than 200 million people on more than 610 unique routes, saving over 19 billion pounds of fuel. The airline’s selection of the Dreamliner builds on its long-term partnership with Boeing, which dates back to 1966 with the airline’s order for three 707s. Today, the carrier’s fleet includes a mix of Boeing 777s and 737s. EGYPTAIR operates passenger and freight services to more than 75 destinations in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia and the USA. AerCap is a global leader in aircraft leasing and aviation finance with nearly 1,100 owned and managed aircraft.
