Singapore Tourism Virtual Roadshow concludes with a resounding success

It was a good six hours of connecting/networking with the travel trade in Middle East and Turkey yesterday as they successfully kicked off their second STB GCC Virtual Roadshow for the Middle East and Turkey. It was a series of very interactive sessions between the buyers from the Middle East region meeting 16 key partners from Singapore. Beverly Au Yong, Area Director, Singapore Tourism Board, Middle East,”This roadshow was the second edition of our STB Virtual trade roadshow, aimed to e-connect 400 outbound travel agents/tour operators from GCC with 15 Singapore service providers for business and networking opportunities. STB conducted successful meetings during the roadshow, showing keen interest by the regional partners to get destination updates and discuss various business prospects. Our efforts to keep Singapore top-of -mind was highly appreciated by all our partners. In addition to this, STB also showcased some reimagined experiences available in Singapore via an interactive map during the roadshow. These experiences were in line with our global initiative ‘SingapoReimagine’ which prompts audiences to reimagine how travel will be like through Singapore’s reimagined offerings.”

Wego inks deal with STB (Middle East) to invite GCC travellers to Reimagine travel in Singapore

Wego has signed deal with Singapore Tourism Board (STB) Middle East to reimagine travel in Singapore and invite travellers from the GCC to visit the country once the borders are fully open. As countries are reopening their borders and aim to vaccinate the population in the fight against coronavirus, people are gearing up to travel again. Singapore has also started their vaccination drive by rolling out the vaccines amongst healthcare workers, followed by elderly and now to all residents. Singapore has enough vaccines for its 5.7 million population. Wego and Singapore Tourism Board Middle East are working closely to raise awareness about reimaging the future of travel in Singapore through fresh and innovative experiences that will ignite travelers’ passions. The new initiative ‘SingapoReimagine’, prompts audience in the Middle East to reimagine how travel will be like through Singapore’s reimagined offerings, which will be available across Wego’s diverse targeted marketing channels. The country provides its visitors a safe and seamless travel experience through its initiative SG Clean Quality mark, which requires tourism establishments to adhere to stringent levels of hygiene and sanitization as well as Safe Management Measures (SMMs). The city has been reporting low cases over the past few months. A recent Brand Health Study, conducted by STB’s appointed market research company Ipsos, revealed that confidence in travelling overseas for leisure and business has been steadily increasing, with 76% of leisure travelers and 90% of BTMICE travelers indicating they are likely to travel in the next 12 months, if possible. Singapore Tourism successfully concludes its maiden Virtual Roadshow 2020

The maiden virtual roadshow by Singapore Tourism Board (STB) concluded last evening with a record number of participants. It was a very interactive platform with one to one meetings with 15 key Singapore exhibitors and over 500 buyers from the GCC region. In his opening remarks, GB Srithar, Regional Director – India, Middle East & South Asia (IMESA) Singapore Tourism welcomed everyone to the first ever virtual roadshow 2020 for Middle East under exceptional circumstances stated, “In 2019, Singapore welcomed 131,000 visitors from GCC states, which was a growth of 7.7% growth of over 2018, UAE and Saudi Arabia continued to be the top two outbound markets to Singapore. This was not possible without your support we thank you and look forward to continue working with you in promote destination Singapore and welcome visitors from the region when the timing is right. For Singapore tourism, this is the biggest challenge we have faced in our 56 year history and we are doing our very best to navigate the storms and emerge strong. Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is organising the maiden virtual roadshow on August 31, 2020. Beverly Au Yong, Area Director, Singapore Tourism Board, Middle East shares with TTME the importance of connecting the regional stakeholders with Singapore service providers for business and networking purposes. She reiterated that the main objectives of the virtual trade show is to connect local and Singapore based travel stakeholders for business and networking opportunities, Maintain market presence and continue to strengthen their relationship with travel trade partners. The roadshow will focus on outbound travel agents/tour operators from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain while the second one will be focused on MICE intermediaries.
