Qatar showcases its tourism roadmap for stakeholders and partners in the industry

Qatar Tourism held a special event to showcase the tourism roadmap, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, along with a group of prominent partners and officials in the tourism industry in Qatar. The event began with an honorary speech by His Excellency Mr. Saad bin Ali Al Kharji, President of Qatar Tourism and Chairman of Visit Qatar, during which he stressed the importance of the tourism industry as a key pillar of Qatar’s strategy to diversify the national economy and support the country’s sustainable development. His Excellency pointed out that Qatar Tourism pursues a modern vision and an advanced strategy through which it seeks to enhance the competitiveness of the tourism sector, encourage investment in the development of the infrastructure it requires, and provide an enabling environment that ensures its prosperity and contribution to supporting sustainable development and diversifying the resources of the national economy, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and its four pillars. He added that Qatar Tourism is working to make room for the private sector and overcome all obstacles that may prevent countries from activating its role in stimulating tourism activity, allowing it to contribute more to achieving our national ambitions for developing the tourism sector and consolidating Qatar’s position as a leading global tourism destination.
This was followed by an opening speech by Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al Mawlawi, CEO of Visit Qatar, in which he highlighted the vital role played by Visit Qatar in marketing the destination, promoting leisure and business events, and efforts in developing tourist attractions, and diversifying Qatar’s event calendar, with the aim of strengthening Qatar’s position as a leading global tourism destination.
He also expressed the launch of Visit Qatar to be the main marketing and promotional arm of Qatar Tourism concerned with the mission of strengthening Qatar’s position as an ideal destination for family tourism, as it provides the highest levels of safety for its visitors and achieves the highest standards of excellence in all its services. He added that Visit Qatar is successfully fulfilling its mission to promote tourism to the State of Qatar and stimulate demand for it by international visitors by developing its rich cultural heritage, developing more attractions and tourism offers, and enhancing the calendar of events held in Qatar. Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al Mawlawi said Visit Qatar’s multifaceted approach, which includes launching promotional campaigns, hosting world-class events and focusing on markets, will help achieve the goals of the 2030 strategy.

For her part, Dr. Buthaina Al-Janahi, from the Public Relations and Communication Department, expressed her gratitude to the media and stakeholders for their vital role in promoting the tourism sector in Qatar and enhancing its presence on the global tourism map. Dr. Buthaina Al-Janahi also focused on the main objective of strengthening the public relations and communication strategy and by providing a sincere representation of the national identity in terms of disseminating messages on the widest scale and emphasizing the geographical distinction in which the State of Qatar enjoys, both from its cultural heritage presence at the same time, and its diverse tourism offerings that are always characterized by quality, exceptionalism and innovation. She stressed Qatar Tourism’s commitment to cooperating with local, regional and global partners. In addition to international media partnerships in order to further expand the scope of our global dissemination of messages and promote our rich cultural heritage along with the advanced infrastructure in the hospitality sector,
At the end of the ceremony, Mr. Omar Abdulrahman Al-Jaber expressed the importance of working on the continuous development of the tourism sector, as it is one of the most vital and sustainable sectors that are permanently affected by developments and events. Mr. Omar Al Jaber added that Qatar Tourism seeks to provide a distinctive experience for visitors at all stages of their journey to Qatar from the moment they arrive until they return to their home countries, and to achieve this, work is underway to enhance the services provided to visitors in order to achieve excellence in service. Mr. Omar Al Jaber pointed out that as part of the efforts to promote service excellence, Qatar Tourism is preparing to launch the Michelin Guide 2025 by the end of this year, and the second edition of the Qatar Tourism Award was launched in cooperation with the World Tourism Organization, which aims to recognize outstanding contributions and efforts in the hospitality and tourism sectors.
Mr. Omar Al Jaber concluded by saying that the development of the tourism sector is one of the key elements that lead to strengthening the national economy and achieving sustainable development, and Qatar Tourism will continue to work on developing this sector in order to reach all the desired goals.
