As part of its tireless efforts to implement its social responsibility programs, Kuwait Airways in cooperation with the National Bank of Kuwait hosted an educational tour and field visit for NBK Aspire program students as part of their summer internship at the company’s various facilities. This included a visit to the aircraft hangar facilities at the Engineering department to understand about the mechanisms and procedures of the department’s work related to aircraft maintenance. This was in addition to providing the trainees with detailed explanations about the nature of work related to maintenance procedures, thereby enriching the knowledge of the participants about the world of aviation.
The Acting Director of Corporate Communication and Public Relations department at Kuwait Airways, Mr. Hamad Bader Al-Ozainah stated, “Kuwait Airways is pleased to host the students participating in the National Bank of Kuwait’s summer internship program. The visit is a unique opportunity for our future generations to understand about their national carrier, Kuwait Airways, and its modern fleet with its present development, in terms of the aircraft technical and technological maintenance procedures. This is in addition to learning about the history of the company, established in 1954 with its legacy, successive eras and achievements which was depicted at the company’s permanent exhibition gallery at the headquarters.”
Al-Ozainah added by saying, “In an effort to implement its social responsibility programs, Kuwait Airways is keen to organize such educational trips at the various facilities of the company, to instil determination as well as historical and cognitive information in young people, thus becoming an added value for our country, Kuwait, and contributing greatly to knowing their talents and preferences from a young age, through cooperation with the banking sector, including the National Bank of Kuwait, one of the most prominent banking institutions for community service.”
Al-Ozainah pointed out that such trips related to the summer internship programs in general are organized in a streamlined manner, especially during the students’ summer vacation period, which greatly benefits them irrespective whether the trip is scientific or cultural in nature. This in turn reflects positively on the students and increases their information about the national carrier of the State of Kuwait.news imageAl-Ozainah appreciated the extent of joint relations between Kuwait Airways and the National Bank of Kuwait, stressing on Kuwait Airways’ continued approach of consolidating the framework of cooperation with entities in the government and private sectors, which is in the public interest of the State of Kuwait.
Al-Ozainah concluded his statement by saying, “Kuwait Airways welcomes our students to visit their national carrier and its facilities, to comprehend the importance of the history of the Blue Bird, especially since these students are the promising generation in whom we place our hopes and aspirations to carry on the course towards development. Furthermore, Kuwait Airways as an integral part of Kuwaiti society spares no effort to be a source of inspiration and encouragement to these students.”
Speaking on the occasion, Manal Al-Mattar, Head of Group Corporate Communications at NBK stated, “We would like to thank Kuwait Airways for hosting the trainees of the NBK Aspire Program and providing them with the opportunity to learn and understand the dynamic work system of this national edifice.”
Al-Mattar added that the cooperation represents an extension of a strategic partnership whose domains have expanded to include the field of social responsibility in a joint effort by the bank and Kuwait Airways, which enhances the cognitive horizons of youth and equips them to play an active role in the future.
Al-Mattar emphasized that the NBK Aspire Program is one of the initiatives that the bank is proud of which encourages students during their summer vacation to engage, train and acquire a real work experience, that enhances and develops their skills as an important resource for the public and private sector institutions in the future.
