Omniyat wins AED 150mn funding for fit-out work of ME Dubai Hotel

Ultra-luxury developer Omniyat has announced that it recently secured a financing of AED 150 million from Mashreq Bank for the fit-out of its ME Dubai Hotel based in The Opus by Zaha Hadid in Downtown Dubai. The facility will be utilised for completing the fit-out of the landmark hotel to be operated by the lifestyle hotel brand ME by Meliá. The internal works will prevail outstanding benchmarks worldwide to meet the distinct needs of future guests. Mahdi Amjad, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Omniyat, said, “We are pleased to sign with the UAE’s longest standing bank and adding it to our portfolio of banks that share Omniyat’s vision of building truly unique projects across vantage locations in Dubai. Marriott International and Dur Hospitality open new hotel, apartments in Riyadh

Marriott International and Dur Hospitality have announced the opening of Marriott Riyadh Diplomatic Quarter and Marriott Executive Apartments – Riyadh Diplomatic Quarter. Shaza Hotels signs first Mysk in Saudi Arabia; to open doors in 2021

Shaza Hotels has signed a management agreement with Sheikh Sultan Al Harthi to operate Mysk Jeddah, the Mysk brand’s first property in KSA. Located on Heraa Street, close to the Jeddah Corniche, the four-star hotel is expected to open in 2021. Included in its facilities are a restaurant, a café, meeting rooms, a kids’ club, fitness centre and rooftop pool. Sheikh Sultan Al Harthi stated, “To support the tourism initiatives for Saudi Vision 2030, we have decided to enter the tourism sector by developing an upscale hotel in a prime location in Jeddah Province. We have chosen Shaza Hotels to operate it under the Mysk by Shaza brand as we were keen on bringing a new and fresh brand to the Saudi market. Ctrip signs China-focused distribution agreement with Millennium Hotels and Resorts

Ctrip.com International (Ctrip), one of China’s largest integrated travel services companies, has signed an agreement with Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR) to develop a global distribution strategy promoting MHR properties to Ctrip’s 300-million strong customer base. The agreement was announced jointly at ITB Berlin by David Zhou, Chief Business Officer—Accommodation Business Unit, Ctrip and Nayan Peshkar, Senior Vice President – Digital, Distribution & Revenue Strategy, MHR. It marks the start of an alliance enabling Ctrip to offer MHR’s iconic portfolio of hotels in the USA, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia to its China-based business and leisure travel clients. Zhou said, “Chinese outbound tourists reached nearly 150 million in 2018, and the growth for this year remains strong. By signing this China–focused distribution agreement with MHR, we are continuing to offer 300 million members the best hotel experience worldwide whilst enhancing MHR’s presence and boosting new business opportunities for them in the China market.” Through the aegis of a strategic collaboration agreement, MHR will partner with Ctrip’s membership programme, which will certify its properties as ‘Chinese-Friendly Hotels’ and enable them to benefit from Ctrip’s influential ranking system. The S Hotel Al Barsha to mark debut at Arabian Travel Market 2019

The S Hotel Al Barsha has confirmed its participation at Arabian Travel Market 2019 to be held from April 28 to May 1 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Shailesh Grover, General Manager, The S Hotel Al Barsha, said, “As the region’s leading travel fair, Arabian Travel Market offers us a fabulous platform to introduce and showcase our first The S Hotel in the Middle East, The S Hotel Al Barsha.” A recent research report released by Arabian Travel Market ahead of the major event reveals that the UAE is set to welcome 8.92 million visitors from top five source markets by 2023. The report says that the country’s top three source markets for inbound tourism are India, KSA and the UK. The number of Indian visitors travelling to the UAE will increase at a CAGR of 7% to 3.01 million in 2023, while arrivals from Saudi Arabia and the UK will witness an increase of 2% and 1% to 1.76 million and 1.28 million respectively over the same period. “Our marketing efforts are geared towards attracting guests from these high-growth segments. Our focus is to get a bigger slice of the inbound tourists from India, KSA, the UK, China and Russia. We’re also targeting the GCC & Middle East, Southeast Asia, Far East Asia, Europe and Latin America,” Grover explains.
