Emirates and Philippine Airlines enhance interline partnership

Emirates to scale up London Heathrow flights from 31st October

Emirates announced it will operate an additional five-a-week service to London Heathrow starting from 31 October 2023 until 30 March 2024. This temporary service will meet market demand during the busy winter season and offer customers more travel choices. Emirates currently serves London Heathrow with six daily A380 flights. The additional flight will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and will be served by Emirates’ wide-body Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, fitted in a three-class configuration split between First, Business and Economy classes. Emirates flight EK41 will depart Dubai at 13:20hrs and arrive at London Heathrow at 17:20hrs, local time. The return flight, EK42, will depart London Heathrow at 20:15hrs and arrive in Dubai at 07:15hrs local time, the following day.

Oman Airports record 5 million visitors until May 2023 as against 3million visitors in May 2022

The total number of passengers travelling through airports of the Sultanate of Oman until the end of May 2023 grew by 71.5% to reach 5,223,992 as against 3,045,519 passengers during the corresponding period in 2022, according to the latest reported preliminary data released by the National Centre for Statistics and information (NCSI). The total number of passengers via Muscat International Airport stood at 4,718,497, comprising a rise by 79.5% compared to the same period of the previous year. Those passengers traveled onboard 36,315 flights, constituting an increase by 65.6%. Meanwhile, the number of passengers via Salalah Airport increased by 32.7% to reach 470,950 passengers onboard 3,468 flights, with an increase in the number of flights amounting to 26.4%, compared to the same period in 2022. The total number of passengers via Sohar Airport reached 6,999 passengers on board 110 flights, while the number of passengers via Duqm Airport reached 27,546 passengers on 258 flights.

First edition of Saudi film confex set to debut in Riyadh

Hotel revenues exceeded OMR 110 million by the end of June 2023

According to Statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information revenues of hotels rated from 3 to 5 stars in the Sultanate of Oman at the end of June 2023 amounted to about 110 million and 31 thousand Omani riyals, an increase of 32 percent compared to the end of June 2022, which amounted to 83 million and 359 thousand Omani riyals. It further indicated that the total number of hotel guests increased by 27.4 percent, recording about 943 thousand and 68 guests at the end of last June, compared to 740 thousand and 50 guests in the same period of 2022 AD, while the occupancy rate recorded a growth of 10.8 percent to reach 47.1 percent, compared to 42.5 percent during the same period in 2022. The number of Omani visitors reached 337,682, while the number of Gulf visitors increased by 28.7 percent, to 72,849 inmates, and the number of European visitors increased by 46.3 percent, to 250,151 visitors. The number of registered American guests reached 29,899, an increase of 3.2 percent, and the number of guests from the African continent reached 5,451, a growth rate of 41.3 percent. guest, an increase of 252.2 percent.
