There were two segments in terms of awards, McArthurGlen awarded certificate of appreciation to selected agents who had been instrumental over the year in securing partnerships. McArthurGlen also recognised the best performers for the year by presenting them with the Tourism Award Trophies. ATM 2024 will showcase the latest trends in luxury travel, value of the global luxury travel sector stood at an estimated $1.28 trillion in 2022

The value of the global luxury travel sector stood at an estimated $1.28 trillion in 2022, according to figures from Grand View Research. The market is expected to witness a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.7% during the period 2023-30. This upward trend is reflected in the Middle East, where the majority of respondents from both the UAE (74%) and KSA (69%) told researchers from Marriott Bonvoy that they were planning to spend more on their vacations in 2023 compared to previous years. High-spending travellers are willing to pay extra for experiences that do not detrimentally impact the communities or ecosystems in which they are located, according to YouGov’s Global travel & tourism whitepaper 2023: Luxury travel post-pandemic. More than three-fifths (61%) of UAE residents say they are willing to pay a premium for responsible, eco-friendly and sustainable tourism experiences, demonstrating that consumers no longer see the luxury segment as being limited to indulgence. With brands such as Kerzner International’s Atlantis The Palm, Mandarin Oriental Dubai (BVI) Limited, Jumeirah International LLC, Air Charter Service, Hyatt International, Mayfair Jets, Minor Hotel Group, Nirvana Holding, The Leading Hotels of the World and Desert Gate Tourism having already confirmed their attendance, ATM 2024 will welcome a diverse selection of luxury travel exhibitors from across the Middle East and beyond. Dubai welcomed 450,000 Chinese visitors from Jan to Sep 2023

On the sidelines of the HSMAI ME ROC ME Commercial Strategy conference, it was shared that Dubai welcomed 450,000 Chinese travellers between January to September 2023, in an exclusive interview with TravelTV Middle East with Hoor Al Khaja Senior Vice President International Operations, Dubai Economy and Tourism. She shared that China once again has returned within the top 5 source market to Dubai. She reiterated the various strategies implemented to attract this important market over the past year as the travellers started to explore Dubai once again, adding it to their bucket list destinations. Al Khaja mentioned, “China has been one of the key source markets for Dubai prior to the pandemic, it was the fourth major source market. It was one of the markets which took a longer time to comeback. We have seen Dubai as one of the bucket list markets for Chinese wanting to travel. If we look at January to September 2023, we have welcomed over 450,000 Chinese visitors so we are well on our way to achieving figures away beyond 2019.
