Radisson Hotel Group moves forward with focused resort expansion in the Middle East

Radisson Hotel Group is forging ahead with the expansion of its resort portfolio in some of the most exquisite leisure destinations in the Middle East. As international travel once again begins to accelerate globally, Radisson Hotel Group plans to debut at least five additional resort locations by 2025.

Following the recent opening of its second resort in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) – Radisson Resort Ras Al Khaimah, Marjan Island – Radisson Hotel Group had also announced its first beach resort property in Dubai – Radisson Resort Dubai Palm Jumeirah – set to open on Palm Jumeirah Q2, 2022. The upscale hotel will have 389 rooms and is set to house five impressive Food & Beverage dining outlets and bars overlooking the Dubai Marina skyline and the Gulf. The resort is the Group’s first beach resort in Dubai and third Radisson branded hotel to open in the UAE. It is perfect for both leisure and business travelers and is ideally located on the trunk of the Palm providing travelers with easy access to the city and Dubai Media City, the region’s leading media hub, and a 30-minute drive from Dubai International airport. This opening will bring the Group’s total number of hotels in the UAE to 17 in operation and under development.

The opening of the two UAE resorts, in addition to the existing Radisson Blu Hotel & Resort, Abu Dhabi, reaffirms Radisson Hotel Group’s commitment to growing its resort portfolio in the region and globally, and aligns with the rising demand for beach resorts, catering to the ever-changing travel trends of guests opting for more laidback and retreat-style vacations. All properties offer access to top tourist destinations and serve as an escape within the city with their tranquil atmosphere and the unbeatable service for which Radisson Hotel Group is known.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) also remains a top location for the Group’s resort portfolio, primed by the opening of Nofa Resort Riyadh, A Radisson Collection Hotel in the Kingdom several years ago. Nestled in a mesmerizing landscape of golden sand dunes, the resort boasts 57 secluded luxury villas and bungalows designed in an elegant African style, with premium amenities including a private swimming pool and garden, providing an unforgettable experience set within an exclusive retreat. In addition, Radisson Hotel Group announces two more signings – Radisson Blu Resort, Riyadh Hills Itlalat and Radisson Blu Resort, Riyadh Hills Shalalah. Due to open in Q2 2023, Radisson Blu Resort, Riyadh Hills Itlalat will consist of 135 keys, including rooms and villas to cater to guests looking for larger or long stay accommodation. Radisson Blu Resort, Riyadh Hills Shalalah will feature 120 keys offering guests both serviced apartments and villas. Radisson Blu Resort, Al Khobar Aziziyah is also planned to open later this year to complement the Radisson Blu Resort, Al Khobar Half Moon Bay in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom.

In line with Saudi Arabia’s vision 2030, Radisson Hotel Group is aiming to significantly increase its contribution towards leisure and business travel as well as tourism to the country’s economy. Today, Radisson Hotel Group operates 25 hotels, resorts and serviced apartments in KSA and has another 20 under development.

Elie Milky, Vice President Business Development, Middle East, Cyprus, Greece and Pakistan, Radisson Hotel Group, said: Many travelers are finding an ever-growing appeal in resort experiences while resort travel has gained rapid demand. The pandemic has accelerated that even further. As a result, we are thoughtfully expanding the product in key markets with strategic investors and partners. The addition of our new and upcoming resort properties as a natural evolution to an all-encompassing brand and product offering for developers is tailored to accommodate the growing demand for staycations and local holidays among residents, as well as leisure demand from international travelers.”
