We are so happy that they all came together to Dubai to discuss business, get updates and support each other. Europe is an all year around destination but especially from this region summer is very popular we have a strong nature and culture focus, so that’s where all of us Switzerland, Germany, Ireland and Austria are very strong.”

Aisling Mc Dermott, Manager Middle East and Asia, Tourism Ireland reiterated, “this is Tourism Ireland’s second time participating in Discover Europe Travel Summit and this is a fantastic showcase of Europe and this is why Tourism Ireland participates in it. We host 100 buyers from the Middle East for two days, with 13 partners from the island of Ireland along with our suppliers and partners from Germany, Switzerland and Austria. This is a very exciting event for us because we really draw on the attraction of Europe and Ireland as a beautiful destination in Europe.”

Matthias Albrecht Director GCC Switzerland Tourism, “For us its very important to be here to meet our customers together with our partners from Austria, Germany and Ireland. It is fantastic to be here to be able to meet our travel trade friends across the GCC and to be able to update them on the latest developments and news and since we are just heading to ATM it’s a very crucial week. We have brought in 45 Swiss partners and this is the highest number as it’s the first time to have so much of interest from the Swiss partners on GCC. Over the past one and half years GCC has become a priority market for us because we had a huge increase last year and this first three months was also 18% increase and we are hoping for a record summer and continue towards the rest of the year.”

Michael Tauschmann, Director Middle East Austria National Tourist Office, “I am so thrilled to be here today to host the Discover Europe Travel Summit together with Switzerland, Germany and Ireland. It’s extremely important to be present here as Middle East has shown to be the most resilient market after covid so we saw the fastest rebound than other source market and the Middle East is almost back to normal when it comes to the numbers. We are proud to have 21 Austrian partners/ suppliers of touristic products, services, regions, hotels and attractions and they are very thrilled to see all of the very ambitious agents from the Middle East who are all looking for something new because the Middle East is eager to travel to Europe.”
