Royal Jordanian Airlines introduces new exclusive services in Iraq

Being the largest foreign carrier covering major cities of Iraq, RJ serves five Iraqi cities with multiple flights to/from Baghdad, Basra, Erbil, Najaf and Sulaymaniah, with over 30 frequencies per week. Sharjah to host 50 countries at IWAS World Games 2019 from February 10-16

The Higher Organising Committee of IWAS World Games Sharjah 2019 confirmed that 1,462 participants from 50 countries are set to compete in the world’s largest wheelchair and amputee sports championship in Sharjah from February 10-16. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member Ruler of Sharjah, the IWAS World Games has returned to the emirate for the second time after its successful debut in the city in 2011. The eighth edition of the world championship brings together seven games including archery, athletics, badminton, swimming, shooting, table tennis and wheelchair fencing. New details of the upcoming biennial sports championship were revealed at a press conference held recently at Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa. Temporary suspension of RJ flights to Erbil and Sulaymaniyah

Royal Jordanian will reportedly temporarily suspend its flights to Erbil and Sulaymaniyah, in northern Iraq, starting from 6 pm (Amman local time) on September 29, 2017. The airline’s decision came after a request from the Iraqi authorities to all airlines flying to Erbil and Sulaymaniyah to stop operating to these two cities until further notice. Royal Jordanian operates 10 weekly flights to Erbil and three weekly flights to Sulaymaniyah. It runs 15 weekly flights to Baghdad and six to Basra.

Turkish Airlines’ debut flight to Erbil, Iraq

Turkish Airlines has inaugurated its direct Erbil, Iraq flights which will be operated from and to Gaziantep Airport. Beginning from August 5th, roundtrip flights between Gaziantep and Erbil will be operated 2 times per week in both directions. Introductory round trip fares are available from Gaziantep to Erbil, Iraq starting at 178 USD (including taxes and fees). Additionally, for the operations to the destinations, there is a special offer for Miles&Smiles members, with a 25% reduction in the miles needed to redeem either award tickets or upgrades.
