Ajman Tourism provides hospitality employees with COVID-19 tests

Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) has conducted comprehensive coronavirus checks for hospitality employees in cooperation with Ajman Medical District and Ajman Crises Management Team, in line with the strengthening of precautionary measures taken by the UAE to ensure a safe environment for residents and visitors. The testing comes as part of the preventive programs of the UAE health authorities to reinforce the precautionary measures to limit the spread of coronavirus and included all employees in Ajman hotel establishments to secure a healthy work environment for all employees. HE Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, ATDD Director General said, “Ajman Tourism Development Department continues to take all the necessary steps to ensure the wellbeing of the hospitality sector employees, and continues to work closely with the concerned authorities to overcome the pandemic and provide a safe environment in the emirate.” Hamad Tarim Al Shamsi, Director of the Ajman Medical Zone, praised the fruitful cooperation between the medical zone and Ajman public and private entities to perform these checks and stressed on the importance of doing such tests to ensure early detection of coronavirus cases. Coronavirus tests are available in Ajman at various centres including the Preventive Medicine Center, Primary Health Care Centers, Al BaytMitwahid Association, the National Survey Center and others.

Ajman Tourism engages Emirati youth to attract more visitors to the emirate

Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) hosted a live parrot show at Al Zorah Natural Reserve in collaboration with the UAE Parrots Group to raise awareness for this hobby which is gaining an increasing interest among Emirati youth and contributes to attracting more visitors to Ajman. The number of participants in the 45 minutes live show reached 11 amateurs from the UAE Parrots Group with 18 Macaw parrots. Parrot breeding is an interesting hobby that brings together many young people who meet to share experience and have a good time. Ibrahim Al-Marai established the group with a team of Emirati youth who have aspirations to raise awareness for this hobby by conducting various activities, events and performances that showcase the capabilities of the trained parrots at several tourist destinations in the UAE. The group includes now many new members in addition to the ladies team that supports achieving the group objectives. Ibrahim explained that he has started this hobby since he was a child and mentioned that he has a group of parrots from different breeds. He created a safe environment to facilitate the parrots’ reproduction and in the process of arranging for new exhibitions, activities and public shows across the country. HE Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, ATDD Director General, said, “Ajman Tourism Development Department is keen to support the Emirati youth and host various activities that contribute to attracting more visitors to the emirate and consolidating Ajman position as a favourable destination for the UAE residents and visitors.”

Ajman Tourism highlights the emirate’s unique features at ATM Virtual

Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) highlighted the unique features of the Emirate of Ajman during the first-ever ATM Virtual, that took place from June 1-3 and provided a combination of networking, one-to-one meetings with buyers and extensive current insights from leading industry professionals. HE Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General, ATDD participated in a panel discussion on the initiatives to be taken to revive the travel and tourism industry to secure sustainable investment in the region. He emphasised on Ajman’s unique features as an attractive investment destination including its location in the UAE with quick access to all of the Emirates of Sharjah and Dubai, cost-effectiveness and comparatively low set-up costs, faster decision-making process and less bureaucracy. He pointed out that the global travel and tourism sector is able to recover relatively fast as it did before in past crises and highlighted the importance of the industry quick adaptation to immediate changes, adopting latest technologies and less interactive operations. Al Geziry also stressed the importance of maintaining high precautionary measures to ensure a safe and comfortable trips for all travellers and hospitality workers, the importance of adopting standardised digital travel credentials and electronic id cards for fast adaptation to the post COVID-19 phase.
