Etihad and Air Seychelles to boost flight options between Abu Dhabi and Seychelles

Etihad Airways and Air Seychelles have entered into a codeshare agreement, allowing customers to travel seamlessly on a single booking between all of Etihad’s destinations and Mahe, Seychelles connecting via the impressive Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi. Additionally, Etihad customers will have access to exotic destinations such as Praslin and Mauritius via Air Seychelles direct service beyond Mahe.  Etihad and Air Seychelles will collaborate on the six flights per week between Abu Dhabi and Mahe starting May 2025. Under the codeshare agreement, travellers can look forward to a great flight experience with the same baggage allowance and a choice of complimentary food and drink, as well as inflight entertainment, with members of Etihad Guest earning miles on each flight. Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, said: “This exciting agreement offers Etihad Airways’ guests increased frequency and convenience for travel between Abu Dhabi and Seychelles, and onward to Mauritius. The flights will integrate seamlessly with Etihad’s global network, enhancing connectivity for passengers of both airlines. “This collaboration not only enhances travel options but also strengthens the relationship between the two airlines, promising a superior travel experience for all passengers.” Charles Johnson, Air Seychelles’ Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We’re excited to be launching our nonstop flights between Abu Dhabi and Seychelles, with continuing same-plane service to Mauritius. Hamad International Airport welcomes Somon Air connecting Dushanbe and Doha

Hamad International Airport (DOH) welcomes Tajikistan carrier Somon Air, as it begins operations between Dushanbe and Doha. This inaugural charter service reflects the growing demand for tourism and business travel from Central Asia, including Tajikistan, to Qatar. The inaugural flight from Dushanbe to Doha took place recently, marking a significant milestone for both Hamad International Airport and Somon Air. The first touchdown was commemorated in the presence of executive members of Hamad International Airport, representatives from Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, Somon Air and officials from the Embassy of Tajikistan in Qatar, with a cake-cutting and welcome celebrations. The route is being served by a Boeing 737-800, configured with 189 seats, ensuring comfortable travel for passengers. Dushanbe is an exciting addition to Hamad International Airport’s expanding network, marking the airport’s eighth Central Asian destination, both scheduled and chartered. With a flight duration of approximately 3 hours and 50 minutes from Dushanbe to Doha, this new connection underscores the importance of enhanced bilateral relations between Qatar and Tajikistan. The route is expected to strengthen cooperation in cultural, humanitarian, economic, trade, and tourism sectors, further solidifying the ties between the two nations. SITA is helping Costa Cruises mitigate costly trip disruptions by providing accurate real-time flight updates via a cloud-based application equipped with an intuitive user interface, the operations team can link each flight to the associated vessel and the relevant booking codes. Costa Cruises, part of the Carnival Group, offers Fly & Cruise packages encompassing both dedicated charter flights and scheduled flights. The flight updates provided by SITA Flight Monitoring Solution will empower Costa Cruises’ Operations Control Center (OCC) to handle the embarkation and disembarkation process for Fly & Cruise guests more efficiently, as well as improve planning for crew movements and allocations. In the event of a cancelled or delayed flight, this continuously refreshed set of data becomes crucial for promptly arranging guest transfers to the next port of call, minimizing associated costs, avoiding inefficiencies, and ensuring a first-class guest experience. SAUDIA celebrates its first flight from Riyadh to Red Sea International Airport

Saudia celebrated the launch of its direct flights to the Red Sea International Airport (RSI) in partnership with Red Sea Global (RSG). Saudia and RSG organized a series of ceremonies both in Altanfeethi lounge at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh (RUH) and onboard in the presence of a number of high-level officials and executives. Saudia operates two flights a week to and from RSI, one of the future destinations of Saudi Vision 2023. Guests flying on Saudia’s celebratory flight received a commemorative boarding pass, while Saudia Boeing B787 aircraft was designed with Saudia’s new brand identity – representing the beginning of a new era – as well as the Red Sea destination logo. Onboard, guests enjoyed an integrated display of Saudi culture through various services, which included Saudi coffee, fine dates, in-flight music and entertainment programs, and a Saudi-inspired menu. Additionally, the in-flight screens displayed several videos illustrating the objectives of the Red Sea destination and its timeline. Meanwhile, the CEO of Saudia, Captain Ibrahim Koshy, and the CEO of Red Sea Global, John Pagano, spoke about their partnership that brings together both parties where Saudia is the first airline to fly to the new destination, and supports the implementation of the initiatives that contributes in achieving sustainable flying to the Red Sea destination in fulfillment of its quest to be Wings of Vision 2030.

SalamAir celebrates inauguration of non-stop flights to Fujairah

SalamAir commenced weekly flights to and from Fujairah starting yesterday. This expansion not only broadens travel possibilities, but also links customers from Fujairah through Muscat International Airport to a number of global destinations on SalamAir’s network. Jazeera Airways starts direct flights to Egypt

Jazeera Airways joined the Egypt Civil Aviation Authority announce the launch of direct flights from Kuwait International Airport to Sphinx International Airport. Jazeera is flying from Kuwait to Sphinx and back four times a week. The Sphinx airport which serves the city of Giza, is located close to the Great Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza. Other tourist destinations, including the upcoming Grand Egyptian Museum and world class shopping centers will also be easily accessible from the airport. This helps put Giza on the map not only as a historic city, but also a shopping destination. The airport is an hour away from downtown Cairo and close to the Greater Cairo districts of 6 October and Sheikh Zayed, as well as the governorates of Fayoum and Beni Suef. All of this makes it ideally situated for tourists flying in from Kuwait and vice versa. Kuwait Airways launches flights to Antalya

IndiGo announces Ras Al-Khaimah as the 100th destination in 6E network

IndiGo announced Ras Al-Khaimah as its 100th destination in 6E network. The airline will commence new direct flights between Mumbai and Ras Al-Khaimah, effective September 22, 2022. Ras Al-Khaimah was also named as Gulf Tourism Capital for the year 2020 and 2021 by Gulf Cooperation Council.
