Al Hamra International Exhibition & Conference Centre, a spectacular venue developed by Al Hamra Real Estate Development, has been recognised as the first safe MICE (meeting, incentive, convention & event) facility in the region by Bureau Veritas, a world leader in testing, inspection and certification services. This certification further underlines the group’s commitment to deliver a safe environment for event organisers and visitors whilst achieving operational excellence in the ‘new normal’. Al Hamra International Exhibition & Conference Centre is designed to meet the needs of every event organiser – from gala dinners, product launches, exhibitions, destination weddings, private events and more. Adapting to the new normal, the preventive measures introduced at the venue include, among others, health assessment and screenings of staff and visitors, enhanced health and hygiene practices across the venue including catering, availability of hand sanitisers, enforcing social distancing measures, re-evaluation of timelines to avoid queuing and bottlenecks, the reduction in the venue participant capacity as appropriate and use of hybrid setting to enable participants to engage virtually. Al Hamra International Exhibition & Conference Centre was assessed on factors including commitment to the programme; respect for social distancing guidelines; compliance with hygienic practices and measures, as well as surveillance and management of any issues. Meeting these requirements, the world-class facility has been awarded the label by the Bureau for a period of six months.

8th edition of Arab Aviation Summit on March 16 & 17

The 2020 Arab Aviation Summit (AAS) announced an array of top executives for its eighth edition, to be held on March 16 and 17 at Al Hamra International Exhibition & Conference Centre in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. Themed, ‘Linking cultures, driving economies,’ the summit will bring together an audience of key industry stakeholders and experts to participate in high-level dialogue on the latest trends, challenges and opportunities facing Arab travel and tourism. Sheikh Saud inaugurates World Travel & Tourism Council Forum 2019

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, delivered the keynote speech to open the inaugural World Travel & Tourism Council Middle East & North Africa Leaders Forum 2019, held in partnership with Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority at Al Hamra International Exhibition & Conference Centre. Sheikh Saud confirmed in his speech at the event, which attracted hundreds of C-level tourism and travel industry delegates from around the region and the world, that Ras Al Khaimah has had a unique journey, from communities of pearl fishermen, traders and mountain tribes to the prosperous, growing Emirate we see today. Sheikh Saud said, “To create sustainable development here in Ras Al Khaimah, we have been busy trying to build one of the most diverse economies in the region. Currently, no single sector of our economy makes up more than 30% of GDP. And in terms of tourism, we’ve witnessed huge growth – tripling our visitor numbers from under 400,000 to over 1 million in just seven years.”  The one-day World Travel & Tourism Council Middle East & North Africa Leaders Forum 2019 brought together a select group of CEOs and regional travel and tourism leaders, along with Tourism Ministers and regional experts. Speakers included Raha Moharrak, the first Saudi woman and youngest Arab to summit Mount Everest; Paul Griffiths, the CEO of Dubai Airports; Raki Phillips, the CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority; Shaun Vorster, the Vice President of Expo 2020 Dubai; Princess Hayfa bint Abdullah Al Saud; and Gloria Guevara, the President & CEO of WTTC and former Tourism Minister of Mexico.
