HRH Crown Prince unveils ultra-luxury hospitality brand ‘Boutique Group’

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Council for Economic and Development Affairs, and Chairman of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), announced the launch of ‘Boutique Group’, a new hospitality brand that will manage and convert a collection of iconic historic and cultural palaces in Saudi Arabia into ultra-luxury boutique hotels. The company will revive the vibrant heritage and culture of Saudi Arabia to create a new and unique hospitality experience. The first phase of the project will focus on the development of three historic palaces in cooperation with the private sector, including Al Hamra Palace that will offer 77 keys including 33 luxury palace suites and 44 luxury villas in Jeddah. Tuwaiq Palace will provide 96 keys including 40 luxury palace suites and 56 luxury villas. Whereas Red Palace will offer 71 keys including 46 luxury suites, and 25 luxury guest rooms. Both Tuwaiq and Red palace are located in Riyadh. Boutique Group will blend the Kingdom’s culture and heritage with modern amenities to provide an exclusive hospitality experience and a unique service to its guests, growing the Saudi ultra-luxury hospitality sector and contributing to the development of the local economy. The company will also offer many high-end experiences from dining to wellness to exclusive services for each guest. H.E. Minor Hotels announces new NH Collection property in Qatar

Minor Hotels is pleased to announce the signing of an upcoming addition to its portfolio in Qatar. NH Collection Doha Oasis Hotel & Beach Club is slated to open in mid-2022 and will be the first NH Collection property globally with a beach club. The hotel is currently in the later stages of development and is located in the Ras Abu Abboud area along Doha’s eastern coast, midway between the city centre and Hamad International Airport. The previous Oasis Hotel, from where the new property takes its name, was in the same location and was Doha’s first ever hotel when it opened in the 1950’s. The hotel has a rich history and was a prominent destination for local Qataris, residents and state visitors, with many celebrations and official events having taken place there. The fully redeveloped hotel will have a total of 300 guest rooms, across a mix of Superior and Deluxe Rooms and over 50 suites, all with a design blending modern and classical elegance. The suites will include six 156 square metre Emiri Suites, a 193 square metre Presidential Suite and an impressive Royal Duplex Suite, offering 332 square metres of luxurious space. 83% want to go on a winter holiday this year, and for 19% this would be the first time

Travellers from the UAE are hoping to head abroad this winter to make up for a lack of summer holidays over the past two years. Furthermore, most would like to go away with their wider family to make up for time apart. This is according to research from Marriott Bonvoy, the travel loyalty programme. The figures show that over eight in ten (83%) people in the UAE are planning to head away on holiday over winter this year, with the vast majority (87%) saying they would like to travel to a different country. For many, a winter holiday will be breaking with tradition – just 24% of those planning to go away this winter say they usually go away at this time of year. Nearly one in five (19%) say this would be the first time they have ever gone on holiday over winter. This new trend for winter holidays has very much been as a result of the pandemic – a third (32%) say they plan to go away because they couldn’t over summer, whilst a further 36% say they are wanting to ‘binge’ on holidays to make up for not being able to go away during the pandemic. Turkey (9%), Egypt (8%) and Maldives (7%) are the key destinations travellers from the UAE would like to head to this winter. The research reveals another trend as a result of the pandemic – a large surge in people who would like to go away with their wider family.
