Minor Hotels to debut in Muscat

Scheduled to open in 2020, the 250-key AVANI Muscat Hotel will be located in Seeb to the west of the city at a 15 minutes’ drive from Muscat International Airport. Seeb is a prime residential area in Muscat and a key area for future development as the city grows westwards. The hotel will be connected via a sky bridge to the upcoming Al Araimi Boulevard Mall, which is currently being developed and is scheduled to open in 2018 with over 250 retail and dining outlets, a medical centre and a 10-screen cinema complex. With a total development cost of USD 50 million by Safari International Group, the new hotel will open in two phases. The first phase will comprise 160 guest rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, an AVANI pantry and a rooftop lounge. Additional facilities will include a swimming pool and health club along with a 1,000 square metre ballroom and eight meeting rooms. The second phase, which will commence two years after the main hotel opens, will offer a total of 90 serviced apartments including studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, plus two 175 square metre three-bedroom apartments.

First Stella Di Mare Hotel in Dubai by Q1 2018

The newest addition to the Dubai Marina is the new five-star Stella Di Mare Hotel to be completed by Q1 in 2018. The property will comprise 252 king rooms, 72 twin rooms and 45 suites. All rooms will be fully air-conditioned, with high-speed Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, personal safe, mini-bar and 24-hour room service. It will feature three restaurants offering a range of dining experiences including Italian, Mediterranean and international buffet. Three bars in the hotel would include a lobby lounge Orphic Bar providing snacks and Italian coffee, the pool bar providing daily refreshments and the signature rooftop bar Skyland, located on the 31st floor of the property with spectacular views of Dubai Marina. The 550 sq m spa will offer a variety of treatments, including massages, facials and beauty therapies. There will be separate male and female saunas, steam room, indoor jacuzzi and swimming pool. The health and wellness options will also include an indoor gymnasium with a range of high quality equipment, plus a salon offering hair, nail and other beauty treatments.

IHG expands presence in Oman with second Crowne Plaza

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN) announced the opening of Crowne Plaza Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in Muscat. The newly opened hotel will be the second Crowne Plaza in the capital and the fifth in Oman, demonstrating the increasing popularity of the brand in the Sultanate. The 296-room hotel is located 10 minutes from the New Muscat International Airport and is a part of the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) project. Scheduled to open in mid-2020, the 233-key Anantara Sharjah Resort will be located on a prime beachfront location in Sharjah, approximately at a 15 minutes’ drive from Sharjah International Airport. The resort will offer a selection of accommodation options including Deluxe Rooms and Luxury Suites. Jumeirah to debut in Bahrain with luxury hotel

Global investment conglomerate Dubai Holding and Sevens Holding SPC signed a management agreement for Jumeirah Group to operate a luxury hotel in Bahrain. Scheduled to open on February 27, 2018, the hotel will be named as Jumeirah Royal Saray – Bahrain. The agreement marks Jumeirah Group’s entry into the Bahrain hospitality market and is a strategic milestone for the world-renowned luxury hospitality brand. The Jumeirah Royal Saray, located on the Bahrain shoreline in a premium beach front position, offers 167 guest rooms including two Royal Suites as well as a variety of dining and recreational choices including a state-of-the-art health club and spa.
