Over 700,000 passengers expected by Emirates across next two weekends

More than 700,000 passengers are expected to depart from DXB’s Emirates Terminal 3 over the course of the next two weekends, as travellers head off for their spring break holidays. With the lifting COVID-19 related travel restrictions in 16 countries, Emirates customers will be able to swiftly check-in without the need to present Covid-19 related medical documents, and in some countries passenger locator forms are also not required.  These countries include the UK, Portugal, Italy, Jordan, Mauritius, Maldives, Austria, Bahrain, Denmark, Hungary, Ireland, Norway, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Spain and Switzerland. Travel restrictions remain in place for other destinations and Emirates customers should check that they have their documents in order ahead of their flights on www.emirates.com/travelrequirements, to ensure a smooth process at check-in. Emirates also urges passengers to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours prior to their flight departure, and ensure they have all the required documents as mandated by their destination. In addition to departures from Dubai, close to 620,000 passengers will be arriving on Emirates flights during that same period, as many make their way for their spring break holidays in Dubai, and to experience Expo 2020 before it ends on 31st March. Emirates check-in options: Check in desks, self-service kiosks: Emirates’ customers may check in as early as 24 hours before their flight departure using the 32 self-service bag drop machines and 16 check-in kiosks available at Terminal 3, or at Emirates’ check-in desks. Passengers travelling to the US can check in 12 hours before departure at Emirates’ check-in desks. Emirates to launch Tel Aviv on 23rd June

Emirates has confirmed that it will be commencing daily services to Tel Aviv from 23 June 2022. Emirates will operate its three-class Boeing 777-300ER on the route, featuring eight private suites in First Class, 42 lie flat seats in Business Class and 304 spacious seats in Economy Class. Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer, Emirates Airline said: “We look forward to finally welcoming customers onboard our flights to and from Tel Aviv this summer, and offer them substantial connectivity to and through our Dubai hub as COVID travel restrictions continue to ease around the world and more borders open up. Qatar Airways to Resume Flights to London Gatwick ‎

Qatar Airways is to resume flights to London Gatwick Airport from 5 June, 2022. The multi-award winning airline will operate a daily service from Gatwick to Doha using a state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner featuring 22 seats in Business Class and 232 seats in Economy Class. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is an environmentally advanced aircraft. It consumes 20 per cent less fuel and its carbon dioxide emissions are 20 per cent lower than other similar aircraft. With the addition of daily flights to London Gatwick, passengers can now enjoy seamless connectivity to almost 150 destinations across the airline’s extensive global network via the best airport in the world, Hamad International Airport, connecting with popular destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australasia. Wizz Air announces new routes to Greece

Wizz Air announced three new routes that will connect Italy with Greece. Starting from June, passengers can travel from the international airports of Rome Fiumicino, Bari Karol Wojtyla International Airport and Naples International Airport to Skiathos, the majestic island in the northwestern Aegean sea. These new routes mark an important seasonal start for Wizz Air, which landed for the first time in Italy in 2004, and which today has a fleet of 150 aircraft, operates from 25 Italian airports in Italy, including 7 bases. Emirates codeshares with Garuda Indonesia

Emirates and Garuda Indonesia announce the launch of their codeshare partnership. The new partnership allows customers of the world’s largest international airline, based in Dubai, and Indonesia’s national carrier, to enjoy seamless connectivity on routes across the Americas, Middle East, Africa and Europe. Under the new codeshare partnership forged, customers will be able to enjoy seamless connectivity on 16 routes, including popular European destinations, in addition to other travel benefits that will introduce additional levels of convenience. Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by both airlines in November of last year, regulatory approvals have been secured to operate routes that are included under the codeshare partnership. Tickets can be booked immediately on emirates.com, the Emirates App, or via both online and offline travel agents, with codeshare flights open from 16 March. After signing a CFM56-7B support contract by the hour in 2016 with AFI KLM E&M, Oman Air is expanding its relationship with the MRO to perform shop visits on 9 additional engines. In order to be able to take care of these visits scheduled over the whole year 2022, AFI KLM E&M has adapted its production schedule to free up slots and take these engines into account. As a result of their established cooperation, Oman Air has developed a fruitful relationship with AFI KLM E&M and is familiar with the level of service delivered by the MRO Group, as well as its ability to deliver on its performance and TAT commitments. Etihad Airways adds summer flights to Nice from 15th June

Etihad Airways has announced a new European destination this summer with the introduction of flights to the French city of Nice from 15 June. The twice-weekly service will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays between Abu Dhabi and Nice Côte d’Azur Airport on a modern Boeing 787 aircraft, one of the most fuel efficient aircraft in the world. Situated on the southeastern coast of France, Nice is renowned for its famous waterfront, with a scenic seven-kilometre walkway known as the ‘Promenade des Anglais’. The city was proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021. “As one of the most popular destinations on the French Riviera, Etihad Airways is delighted to add Nice to its summer network in 2022,” said Martin Drew, Senior Vice President Global Sales & Cargo. “This is the first time Etihad will be operating flights to Nice and Etihad is confident it will appeal to a broad range of leisure travellers looking to satisfy their wanderlust this summer.” Nice is the fifth summer route to be announced by Etihad Airways for 2022 after Crete, Malaga, Santorini and Zanzibar, all set to to launch in mid-June.
