OMRAN Group Celebrates Official Opening of Oman Adventures centre and the Launch of the World’s Longest Zipline Over Water

Within the framework of stimulating and developing the tourism sector, Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group) has celebrated the official opening of the dual Zipline project in Khasab, Musandam. The Zipline, spanning over 1,800 metres, has officially broken the Guinness World Record for ‘The world’s longest Zipline over water’. The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sayyid Ibrahim bin Saeed Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam. The event was attended by Eng Mohammed Salim Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OMRAN Group, along with several officials from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, sheikhs, and dignitaries of the region. Representatives from Guinness World Records were also present at the ceremony. The Zipline project is the first activity and a key component of Oman Adventures centre, which will serve as an integrated platform that offers exciting and enjoyable tourism experiences for adventure enthusiasts visiting the Governorate. This project will help enhancing the Governorate’s position as a prime destination for adventure seekers from within and outside Oman. Speaking at the project’s official opening, Daoud Sulaiman Al Rashdi, Director of Product Development and Tourism Experiences at Ministry of Heritage & Tourism said, “We are pleased to officially open Oman Adventures centre. The project has undergone extensive testing by specialised teams to ensure compliance with safety and security regulations specific to the adventure tourism sector. We are confident that the centre will be a valuable addition to Musandam’s tourism offerings and will cater to adventure enthusiasts visiting the Governorate. CLYMB Abu Dhabi breaks two GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS titles

CLYMB Abu Dhabi was awarded with two GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS titles for the world’s largest indoor skydiving wind tunnel at 10 meters (32 feet) in diameter and 54.6 m (179.2ft) high and the world’s tallest indoor artificial climbing wall reaching 42.16 m (138ft). Launched on November 29, 2019, CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi provides guests with a unique experience, taking them to record-breaking heights. The two attractions are suitable for visitors of all ages and skills, with highly trained instructors taking visitors through safety tips and techniques before introducing flying and climbing techniques. With five climbing walls of varying degrees of height and difficulty, CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi is suitable for both beginners and experts alike, in addition to the largest indoor skydiving flight chamber. Prior to the announcement, visitors have been enjoying the Indoor skydiving and climbing facilities as well as the two in-house Food and beverage outlets at CLYMB Abu Dhabi, offering a fun day out for the whole family. Abu Dhabi sets new Guinness World Records

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, the world’s first-ever Warner Bros. branded indoor theme park, succeeded in claiming a Guinness World Records title for the “Largest Gathering of People Wearing Capes”. Taking place at the park’s Gotham City and Warner Bros. Plaza lands, the event was part of Batman’s 80th anniversary celebrations on Batman Day. Batman fans of all ages came together from far and wide to take part in the festivities, donning Batman’s iconic cape and commemorating 80 years of adventures with everyone’s favorite Caped Crusader. Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi’s Gotham City and Warner Bros. Plaza buzzed with guests who dressed as the Caped Crusader and revelled in the celebratory atmosphere, featuring special entertainment including interactive segments, character meet and greets and lots of other surprises. Batman himself was there, saluting fans who showed up to honour his landmark anniversary. Fans of the Dark Knight took home commemorative items and delightful memories from the record-breaking event. Ras Al Khaimah attempts to break two Guinness World Records

Ras Al Khaimah is preparing to welcome 2020 with a mesmerising fireworks display. For the first time, #RAKNYE2020 will feature pyro-drones that will create never-before-seen fireworks starting with the countdown to the beginning of the New Year and culminating with Ras Al Khaimah’s main landmarks being recreated in the sky accompanied by more fireworks. There will also be a special Japanese aerial shell fireworks display, another innovative experience. The two new experiences this year attempt to clinch two Guinness World Records. #RAKNYE2020 will be even more special this year with a range of celebrities – including top performers from the Arab world – set to put forth an awe-inspiring music performance. Details of the event and tickets sales will be revealed in October.  Families will be delighted with an added array of activities for young ones at three new locations dedicated to the public and families along the sea coast opposite Al Marjan Island. Gevora, world’s tallest hotel, opens in Dubai

Dubai’s Gevora Hotel, with 75 floors standing tall at a height of 356 metres, has claimed the title for the tallest hotel in the world by Guinness World Records. Located on the Sheikh Zayed Road adjacent to the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC), Gevora was built by Majid Al Attar. With 528 keys consisting of 232 Deluxe Rooms, 265 one-bed room deluxe and 31 two-bedroom suites, the four-star luxury city hotel will now even wear the crown as the tallest hotel from its predecessor JW Marriott Marquis. The opening ceremony of the property was presided over by owners Majid Al Attar, Khalid Al Attar, Ahmed Abdul Rahim Al Attar, Salah Ameen, Mana Al Attar and Mohammed Al Attar. The hotel has been launched at a time when Dubai prepares for the influx of tourists for Expo 2020. The state-of-the-art meeting room facilities in the property will be a key driver for the business clientele in the area who require smaller board room type of facilities. The rooms are fully equipped with a kitchen especially designed for the GCC clientele.
