Dur Hospitality and Memar sign agreement to operate two Nur by Makarem hotels in Makkah

Dur Hospitality and Memar Development & Investment have signed an agreement to operate two hotels in Makkah under the brand Nur by Makarem. The two hotels are among Dur Hospitality’s first Nur by Makarem properties.  The first hotel, Nur Al Naseem, is located in Makkah’s Al Naseem district and includes 124 rooms and suites, as well as a restaurant, café, and various amenities. Commenting on this milestone, Dur CEO, Mr. Sultan Al-Otaibi said:” Nur by Makarem brand is redefining the experience of affordable hotels in Saudi Arabia to meet the growing demand for this category of hotels. The brand will add value and diversity to the hospitality options in the holy cities in line with the Saudi government’s strategy to scale up spiritual hospitality offerings as per Saudi Vision 2030. Dur Hospitality and Smart Zone Real Estate Company announce JV to Develop and Operate a Hotel in Riyadh

Dur Hospitality has announced signing a partnership agreement with Smart Zone Real Estate Company. The agreement aims to set up a Limited Liability Company (The Project Company) to construct and operate an innovative hotel in Riyadh. As per the agreement, The Project Company will develop and operate the first full-fledged smart hotel in the Kingdom. The Project Company’s capital will be contributed according to the ownership percentage of each party. Commenting on this milestone, Mr. Feras Albanyan CEO of AQALAT stated: “We are excited to partner on this project with Dur Hospitality, one of the leading national companies in hotel development and operation in the Kingdom.” For his part, Dur Hospitality CEO Mr. Sultan Al-Otaibi stated, “Dur has diligently worked on the studies required to set up The Project Company which will embody Dur’s strategic expansion roadmap and its role in the Saudi hospitality’s digital transformation journey. Dur Hospitality inaugurates the Holiday Inn & Suites Al Jubail Hotel

Dur Hospitality has inaugurated the 4-star Holiday Inn & Suites in Al Jubail Industrial area, adding a new and noteworthy property to its rich lineup of hotels and accommodation offerings spread all around the Kingdom. The new hotel will be operated through a franchise agreement with the globally-acclaimed Intercontinental Hotel Group, and is set to augment the hospitality and leisure scene in the Al Jubail region. IHG, Dur Hospitality to launch Crowne Plaza in Riyadh this June

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed up with Dur Hospitality for a franchise agreement of Crowne Plaza Riyadh Palace, under the master franchise agreement signed earlier for four hotels. Currently operating as Riyadh Palace Hotel, the property is expected to be rebranded to Crowne Plaza by June 2018. The hotel totals to 304 rooms, over 1400 sqm of meeting space, a business centre along with an outdoor pool, lounge and a spa. It offers a range of authentic and contemporary cuisine at the hotel’s restaurant and at the Lobby Café. Ahdab, President, Hotel Operations—Dur Hospitality said, “We are delighted to partner with IHG yet again, for their world-class brand Crowne Plaza, making this our second hotel with them, following the opening of Holiday Inn, Tabuk. Marriott launches hospitality training in Saudi Arabia

Marriott International, in co-operation with Cornell University, launched ‘Tahseen’ programme, a training programme that focuses on fast-tracking next-generation Saudi leaders in hospitality. The launch event was held at the Ritz-Carlton in Riyadh. Introducing the programme, David Leman, Marriott International’s Chief HR Officer Middle East & Africa, said, “With hands-on training, expert guidance, and invaluable, full exposure to the business of running a hotel, the ‘Tahseen’ programme will set participants up for a bright future in the industry. We’re very excited to see the begin their onboarding programme following today’s inauguration.” Developed in conjunction with Cornell University and supported by key partner DUR Hospitality, ‘Tahseen’ was specifically launched for Saudi nationals and will run over a course of 12 to 18 months. The programme offers graduates six months of cross-exposure to all departments, as well as six to 12 months of departmental specialisation led by a team of professional leaders across Marriott’s participating hotels, as well as a managerial opportunity at the end of the course. It also provides graduates access to Marriott International’s world-renowned core management development programmes.
